Blackened Fish Tacos with Spicy Lime Avocado Sauce

Fish is one thing everyone in this house just loves!!  Any kind of fish or seafood is always a hit.  I recently got a really good price on Tilapia, so I decided it would be perfect for fish tacos!

For the fish:

Cooking spray
1 lb tilapia fillets
1 tbs paprika
1/8ish tbs Cayan (if you like spicy, more if you like really spicy)
1/2 tbs garlic powder
1/2 tbs pepper
1/2 tbs oregano
3/4 tbs salt

8 Mission brand extra thin corn tortillas (these are only 40 calories each.  If using a different brand the calorie count will need to be adjusted)
2 to 3 cups finely shredded lettuce
1 thinly sliced jalapeno
3 or so tbs chopped fresh cilantro
3 or so tbs chopped green onion
fresh sliced avocado (optional)
Queso Fresco (optional.  I didn't have any, but we didn't miss it)

The Spicy Sauce:
1/2 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1/4 ripe avocado
1 whole jalapeno
1/4 cup fresh cilantro
Juice of 1 whole lime
Salt to taste

In a small bowl mix together all the above spices.  Sprinkle both sides of each fish fillets with the spice mixture.  Stick them back in the fridge for 15 minutes to an hour or so.

In a food processor or blender add jalapeno, cilantro, salt and lime juice and puree until finely chopped.  Add yogurt and avocado and blend until smooth and creamy.  Refrigerate while you cook your fish.

Spray a large fry pan with cooking spray, over medium/high heat.  Once pan is nice and warm fry fish fillets in batches (I could fit between 4 and 6 fillets in the pan at once, so it took 2 batches.)

Now it's assembly time!  I wont tell ya how to assemble a taco.  Pretty sure you can handle that part.  If you can't, that's what taco trucks were invented for!

This recipe makes 8 tacos, with about 2 ounces of fish in each taco.  Each taco is only about 150 calories each!
